Situated on the western shore of Lake Windermere. Low Wray is the perfect base for touring the lakes. There is a whole range of outdoor activities including gentle walks and great off-road biking from the campsite. The quiet country lanes will also prove attractive to cycle tourers. Low Wray is an ideal base for lovers of watersports including windsurfers, canoeists and dinghy sailors, with on-site access for launching.
Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole
Enjoy the lakeside setting, children’s adventure playground, fabulous terraced gardens sloping down to the shores of the lake, gift shop and cafe.
The Lake District Visitor Centre is approximately half way between Windermere and Ambleside on the west side of the A591 and is well signposted.
Windermere is 10½ miles long and 219 feet deep, is England's largest lake. Its name comes from the Scandinavian for ' lake of a man called Vinandr '.
