Siam Thai & Teppanyaki Restaurant
Siam Thai & Teppan-Yaki Restaurant
Siam, 32 City Road, Chester CH1 3AE Tel: 01244 403222
On the 1st floor of this converted warehouse on the Chester Canal is Chester’s first Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant while upstairs is an authentic Thai Restaurant. Below as you can see on the photo is The Old Harkers Arms Pub. Teppanyaki (鉄板焼き, teppan'yaki) is a type of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word "teppanyaki" is derived from teppan (鉄板), which means iron plate, and yaki (焼き), which means grilled. In Japan, teppanyaki may refer to any of a number of dishes cooked using a teppan, including okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki, frequently with the hot plate located in the center of the diners' table. ![]() Customer Reviews I love Thai food, and from the 30 or so Thai restaurants I have eaten across the UK this is in the top 5. Service is fantastic, but most importantly the food is simply amazing. Can't really say I enjoy Thai more elsewhere. A must have experience for Thai enthusiasts. Dec 2007 / 5 Stars - Great!
I first went to Siam for a friend's sister's birthday. The teppan-yaki bit is ideal for big parties as the food is not only delicious but the chefs put on a bit of a show as they cook it. Highly entertaining and a varied menu. Aug 2007 / 4 Stars - Good
Excellent food and service. We enjoyed the evening very much. Aug 2007 / 5 star - Excellent Highly Recommended
