The Mystery Plays continue into July, a production of Chester's famous medieval mystery plays takes place on Cathedral Green in the heart of Chester.

A Renewable Energy Exhibition will be held at the Manchester Metropolitan University, Crewe Green Road, Crewe campus. Organised by the Energy Saving Trust advice centre and Cheshire Renewable Energy Initiative. Promoting the uptake of solar power, wind turbines, biomass and heat pumps this event is a must for anyone who is concerned about their energy use, the environment and tomorrows fuel prices. Attendees will be able to learn about renewable energy and to find out how it will benefit them.

The British Superbike round at Oulton Park - Cheshire, has a history of producing the closest race finishes of the year. Reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari and his team-mate Jonathan Rea have been race winners, as has Gregorio Lavilla. With new riders at HM Plant Honda and Airwaves Ducati, it will be a fight to the finish at Oulton Park.
Oulton Park race circuit is only 14 miles from Chester.

The parade normally meets at the Gorse Stacks car park, ending at Chester Roodee Racecourse. Previous years have seen the Miniaddicts, Roman soldiers, local schools & Chester Guilds.

This year's theme will be 'Garden Party', which is to coincide with Cheshire's 'Year of Gardens 2008'. Music is being carefully chosen round that theme, although, as usual the second half will include the Proms favourites with Tchaikovsky's '1812 Overture' as a grand finale.

John Derry Solo Art Show, Bluecoat Books

In July 2008, Spencer John Derry 34, will exhibit his latest collection of landscape paintings at the Bluecoat bookshop in Chester. Derry produced most of his paintings in summer of 2007. His work is characterised by the use of primarily acrylic to produce landscapes in black and white. The paintings here are places that the artist has been to and enjoyed; Crosby, Staithes. Robin Hoods Bay (Town), Tyfan's Adam and Eve. Derry, ex-surrealist - fantasy turned landscape/portraiture UK artist last held a solo show at Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham, 2004. This forthcoming show will be Derry's tenth solo art show in 10 years.
Bluecoat Books is on the City Walls at the top of the steps on Northgate Street, just inside the North Gate and overlooking the Canal.
