GRWE Family Fun Day & Dog Show, Frodsham

This year sees GRWE (Greyhound Rescue West of England) back in Frodsham but for a family fun day as well as the traditional dog show, so come along and join us with your greyhounds, lurchers, other breeds, children, grandparents and friends for a fantastic summer day out!

Following their very successful GRWE debut last year, the Delamere Dog Display Team will be performing in the main ring again, and there just might be a separate appearance from a couple of our more talented and agile greyhounds and lurchers too if we can get enough practice in between now and then! If you fancy trying your paw at agility, there will be mini training classes ongoing throughout the day with some expert help to get you started and prizes for the best times! We are extending the dog show this year to offer more classes and will again be running two rings with greys and lurchers in the one and other breeds in the second. Classes will be a mixture of the ‘classics’ like best dog, best bitch and the ‘funnies’ – waggiest tail, baldest bottom, most fabulous ears, best trick and so on. We will also be testing your training skills with some basic obedience and an award for the best junior handler (under 16). Prizes, rosettes and trophies will be presented to the winning competitors :-)

We have lots of local businesses coming along to join us in the shopping marquee, including produce from the local farmers market, along with the opportunity to get your hands on some of the new GRWE merchandise. For our younger supporters there will be games, a dalmation bouncy castle (they don't do greyhounds unfortunately!) a fancy dress competition and face-painters on hand to complete that perfect competition outfit :-) Refreshments will be available all day and there is plenty of grass space if you fancy bringing a picnic!
The kennel hounds will of course also be coming along for the day...
