![]() Children's Plant Workshops Thursday 7th June 2012 10am - 11am Young gardeners can begin to learn all about potting and nurturing plants in our Children’s Plant Workshop with practical classes and entertaining hands-on help. Each child will take home their three plants from the Workshop and a packet of seeds to sow at home. They will also enjoy a cookie and drink too. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Choose from buffalo meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, flavoursome cheeses, freshly baked cakes, handmade chocolates, pasties and pies and organic eggs too. All the delicacies on offer have been grown, reared or picked by the very best farmers and producers in Cheshire and North Wales and regular sell out so please make sure you arrive early to avoid disappointment! ![]() Creepy Crawlies at Grosvenor Sunday 10th June 2012 11am – 3pm Simon returns for a popular hands-on visit to Grosvenor with his menagerie of animals. From lizards, snakes, spiders, frogs and many more – learn all about these amazing animals and hold them too! Simon will talk about fears and phobias, the environments that they come from, how they protect themselves and how adaptation, natural selection and evolution have shaped the way they look and feel. ‘How to ... Roses Round the Garden’ Wednesday 27th June 2012 10am – 1pm Back in fashion with a fanfare and deservedly so, there are roses to suit any size or style of garden from a chic urban courtyard to a rambling cottage idyll. Roses are some of the longest flowering shrubs and climbers and many of today's varieties, such as the celebrated English roses, combine fragrance and repeat flowering with old-fashioned romance. Several make superb subjects for patio pots and there are numerous award-winning, disease-resistant kinds to choose from. This workshop shows you how to get the very best from roses including suggestions for perfect plant partnerships.
