Peckforton Castle Hosts 65 ft Abseil
24 April 2010
Peckforton Castle is hosting a 65 foot abseil at the Castle on 24 April 2010 on behalf of Hope House Children’s Hospices in a bid to help this local charity raise much needed funds for the continuation of its work, which involves caring for more than 320 terminally ill children and their families. Co-ordinated by local adventure company, Your Great Escape, the abseil will be fully managed on the day by qualified instructors who provide all equipment necessary. Peckforton Castle managing director Chris Naylor comments: “We’d like to encourage people to come forward for this 65 foot abseil down the Castle’s stunning turrets. Not only will you have a great day out but you’ll be helping to raise funds so that Hope House can continue to provide vital care and support for terminally ill local children and their families. Hope House needs about £4 million a year and relies mostly on donations.” Anyone over the age of 16 can take part with a minimum of £75 sponsorship. Sponsorship forms are available from Hope House shops in Wrexham, Chester, Nantwich and Crewe, or from Peckforton Castle or Hope House in Morda, Oswestry. Hope House Childrens Hospices is a registered charity. We run two hospices Hope House in Oswestry, Shropshire and Ty Gobaith, in Conwy, North Wales. The closing date for entries is 16 April 2010. For further details go to www.hopehouse.org.uk or call 01691 671671 Or alternatively, go to www.peckfortoncastle.co.uk or call 01829 260 930.
