2011
St Mary's Church, Mold
Only two weeks left to go now before the Virgin Art Exhibition commences at St Mary’s Church in Mold on May 2nd. Nearly 200 entries to be exhibited for sale have now been submitted, and final preparations for hanging the pictures are being made. The exhibition will be open every day from Monday May 2nd to Saturday May 7th, 10.00am – 8.00pm.
Refreshments will be available all day.

Why not come along and spend a pleasant couple of hours browsing round the works of art, having a cup of tea with friends, or perhaps even buying a picture. If you are buying a house or getting married, this would be an ideal opportunity to acquire an original work of art by a local artist to commemorate the occasion.

Virgin Art gets off to a good start.
The third Virgin Art exhibition in St Mary’s Parish Church, Mold has got off to a very good start, with the Preview Evening for artists on Saturday evening April 30th being opened by Councillor Owen Thomas, Chairman of Flintshire County Council.

Bank Holiday Monday was very well attended with visitors enjoying the varied works of art and also the refreshments. Over twenty pictures have been sold already, so if you are thinking of visiting and want to have a good choice of the remaining exhibits, please come along early.

The Virgin Art Exhibition which was held in St Mary’s Church, Mold, came to an exciting conclusion on the very last evening, when votes for the visitors’ favourite picture were finalised. Right up until eight o’clock there was a draw between two pictures. Then one gentleman put in his slip of paper with the name of his favourite picture and that became the casting vote.

The chosen picture was “Over the fields to the Clwyds”, a watercolour by Barbara Smith who was delighted to be chosen, and received a Voucher for Ł25.00 donated by Dee Fine Arts of Chester.
