High Steet, Tarporley, Cheshire

Tarporley is a large village in Cheshire. It has a smart Georgian high street with many fine shops, pubs and restaurants. Some include: The Swan Hotel, The Rising Sun, Crown Hotel, Old Fire Station Chocolate Shop, Caran D'ache, The Chestnut Pavilion, No.6 The Tea Room.

The village developed along the High Street in the 18th and 19th centuries with many hostelries to revive the weary traveller. Tarporley was on the route used by many traders travelling by coach between London and Chester and those dealing in salt mined in nearby Nantwich.
