You may well be aware by now that the amazing, new, world-class combined arts centre to be built in and around the old Odeon cinema in Chester is due to open in 2016. The project is a part of a visionary partnership between ourselves and Cheshire West & Chester Council, who are making a tremendous investment in the regenerative power of culture. The new centre will be run by Chester Performs and will also house much of our work, including a season of theatre by the Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre Company, music from Ensemble Deva, the MBNA Chester Music Festival, WayWord and the Essar Chester Literature Festival.

A major £34m investment is transforming this area and the old bus station / Gorsestacks car park. Watkin Jones are building a new quarter providing homes, offices, retail and parking.
A new 250,000 sq ft development on the site of the former Cheshire Constabulary Headquarters. HQ by Liberty Properties, includes offices, a luxury Abode hotel, restaurants and a range of apartments and penthouse apartments with spectacular views over the Chester Racecourse.
The former Police Headquarters has been demolished ready for work to start on the new HQ in 2008. The photo below shows the demolition of this 60's architecture. More info about the former Cheshire Police HQ here.
David McLean Developments are currently building homes between the Chester Racecourse and the River Dee. Including new racing stables and 200 new apartments a new riverside cycleway and footpath and a restaurant. It is also intended to provide a new art feature as part of the development. A further 55,000sq ft of Grade A office space will follow shortly.
