Watergate Street and Watergate Rows have many fine antique shops and dealers. Chester is historically known for its quality of silverware. There is a Chester Assay Office hallmark to show this standard of quality (see photos below). The Chester Coat of Arms, three golden wheatsheaves and a sword.

Just around the corner at 11 Bridge Street Row is Lowe & Sons an antique jewellery and silver dealer, established in Chester for over two centuries. Worth a visit to see the old style shop interior and silver on show.
